Welcome to this important platform of communication, which I believe will be a valuable source of information to all our audience and fans. I am delighted to see a revamped SOYA Awards website that will go a very long way towards enabling our sportspeople, fans and all stakeholders’ access and follow the journey that this award has walked over the last decade and more.

We remain committed to growing SOYA into the pinnacle of every sportsman and woman’s coveted dream trophy to receive. As we have remained true to the objectives of founding this award, I am thankful to all partners who have walked along with us to make this dream a realization.

The vision to see our athletes from all sports recognized, rewarded and celebrated at our annual Gala gathering ceremony is the most fulfilling outcome of this initiative. Their role in our national life and development cannot be gainsaid and we owe them a debt of immense gratitude.

So many people and corporations have made SOYA what it is today and to each, thank you. The Panel of judges from our sports editors and senior reporters has ensured the integrity of SOYA is beyond reproach. The ideals we hold dear such as fair play, team work, patriotism, transparent and accountable governance of our sports guide our final selection of those to be feted each year from the huge pool of nominees that is received.
